The Maqamat International Orchestra is a unique cultural initiative dedicated to bridging nations through the power of music. Our vision is proudly international. We aim to collaborate with countries from across the globe, inviting artists, composers, and performers to join us in celebrating their national heritage in both traditional and contemporary forms. Each performance is an opportunity to listen, to learn, and to honour the cultural depth of our global community.

Today, we are especially proud to welcome Iraq as our Guest of Honour. With its ancient musical legacy, complex maqam traditions, and evocative instrumentation, Iraq offers a profound and moving contribution to our program. Through this collaboration, we pay tribute not only to Iraqi music but also to the resilience and creative spirit of its people.

Looking ahead, we are delighted to announce that Canada and Morocco will soon join us as Guests of Honour. From Canada’s vibrant multicultural soundscape to Morocco’s mesmerizing blend of Arab, Amazigh, and Andalusian influences, each country brings its own distinctive voice and artistic expression to the Maqamat stage.

By inviting countries as Guests of Honour each year, we hope to create an ever-expanding dialogue between cultures—one rooted in respect, curiosity, and the shared language of music. At Maqamat, we believe that music is more than performance; it is a celebration of identity, memory, and connection.
